Operational Programme “Transport” 2007-2013


Operational Programme “Transport” 2007-2013 (OPT) is one of the seven operational programmes of Republic of Bulgaria financed by the Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund of EU. OPT is the Programme with the largest budget in Bulgaria - € 2 003 481 163.68. The purpose of OPT is the development of the railway, road and water infrastructure, and stimulation of the combined transport in compliance with the transport policy of the European Union and the statutory requirements for improvement of the Trans-European transport network to achieve sustainability of the Bulgarian transport system. The specificity of OPT is the advanced selection of beneficiaries of the projects and advanced prioritization of an indicative list with infrastructure projects, envisaged for financing under the Programme. The Operational Programme is focused on several strategic priorities that will contribute to the integration of the national transport network in the EU. Achieving them will be the main input for sustainable and balanced economic growth of the country in medium and long term plan.

     The projects under which the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company is a beneficiary are within the priority axes 4 “Improvement of the maritime and inland-waterway navigation” and priority axes 5 "Technical Assistance” under OPT.
